“I’ve come to a place where I’ve whole-heartedly aligned my passion for interiors with well-being, and formed what I call #WellnessDesign, an integrated approach that demonstrates through my work how the two so closely intertwine; it is a merging of design and lifestyle with deeper purpose through the emphasis of toxin-free materials, and mindful choices in interiors that literally, and figuratively, create space for energetic shifts in the home; emotionally, spiritually and at a cellular level in the body.

I believe in a consciously integrated approach to interiors; where wellness intersects design choices. In buying fewer, but better things. In full transparency of toxicities from company to consumer; design that evokes calm to your nervous system, and materials that don’t harm your cells.”

Design to shift energy: A wellness approach to interiors.

Many of us exist in our homes, but what if we could make a few changes to thrive in them? Designing spaces with wellness as a focus melts into other areas of our lives; one after another, and we begin to notice that as our environment gets better, our thoughts get better, our relationships get better, our health gets better and…we as a whole become better. I would love for you to have the same experience when curating the spaces you spend the most time in.

Design

Design for thought: Our environment affects every part of our body. Elements of our home even influence our DNA to express certain genes and repress others. Parts of our environment communicate to genes to up-regulate cells, or down-regulate cells based on what your space emits physically and psychologically. Calm, serene environments helps our bodies to express healthy cells and up-regulate. Because of this, many choices in my design process are based around biophilic design, which is a concept used in the building industry to connect us to the natural environment through the use of materials, space, and place conditions. We design for comfort of course, but what about for wellness? Biophilic design enhances our cognitive creativity and focus, improves our immune system, overall well-being and expedites the healing process.

Living

Some would say, isn’t it a contradiction? Collecting material items while still being spiritual? The key is ‘acceptance of an detachment from’ material things. Detachment is not that you owe nothing, true detachment is that nothing owns you.
